Happiness

Hello, I hope you are doing well.  You know you want to be happy every day.  I want to be happy every day.  I want to be joyful and happy every day of my life.  The question is… “What is happiness, and what is joy, and where does it come from, and how can I have it in moments like these when I’m stuck at home, when I’m away from my friends, when I’m having to adapt to doing everything online, when I’m just separate from the whole world and wondering to myself, when is this darn pandemic going to come to an end?”

Well, I gotta tell you, I want you to be happy not because you’ve accomplished something, but I want you to be happy because of What You Are Becoming.  Think about those words.  You can be happy by having your favorite ice cream, or your favorite meal, or you can be happy by going to your favorite party, but think about the deepest sense of happiness that emanates, that comes from you becoming.

In other words, not a happiness that comes and goes so quickly, but a happiness that comes out of you accomplishing something beyond transactional.  You’re becoming a deeper person. You’re becoming a wiser person. You’re becoming a more giving person. You’re becoming a more patient person.  The process of becoming, just like a butterfly becoming, becoming that creature, that organism, that living organism that gives hope and purpose in life.

So happiness, yes you can get it easily.  Joy is the result of how we become.  And as you are becoming, as you are transforming at this time, I just want you to know, I wish you the very very best in all that you do, and all that you are.  Have a great week.
