Navigating Transition ⛵
People don't resist change as much as transition. It's transition that they resist. They resist letting go of old ways, and their former identity. Or they resist embracing a state of being that they don't know what the new rules are. Or they simply resist the risk of failing and looking stupid. All that maybe true, whether you're eighteen or eighty. People hate that feeling of chaos.
During our lives we all will feel that sense of uneasiness, whether we move to a new place, start a new job, or end an old one. But let me let you in on a little secret… You Will Survive! Here's how… Talk to people you trust about your future. Set goals, both short-term and long-term. Set a schedule about meeting those goals and become discipline about it.
Now know that your anxiety may rise, that's normal. But your creativity will rise too, that’s normal as well. You will figure out what you're doing and why. That will take time, but allow time for that to happen, it’s really important. Until you hammer out what you're doing, you can't figure out where you're going. It's just a simple rule about existence.
Life is full about New Beginnings, full of more excitement than doubt. You’ll see and feel change, but more importantly, you’ll understand your future. Have a great day.
