Take Charge of Your Time 🕰️

Know the difference between what's urgent and what's important.  Urgent tasks, like responding to a text message, and returning a phone call, will suck away your time.  But it's the world we live in, that's just the way it is.

Writer Douglas Rushkoff has a name for it.  He calls it “Present Shock.”  It's a condition that you're always in the now, and you lose the sense of where you want to go.  That's why you need to keep focused on what's important.  Not just urgent, but important.  Your Vision, Your Goals.

See, your vision is a thing of your heart, a goal is a creature of the mind, and that is an important step that will help you reach your vision.  So know your goals, of course, write them down, even have them in a prominent place where you can see them every day.  Some call this a vision board, and include pictures of what they want to see happen in their life.  But whatever you do, remind yourself to complete the important tasks of your life first, not just the urgent tasks.

You know time is a created thing.  You can control it.  You can make it work for you.  Don't be held hostage by the tyranny of the urgent.  Take Charge of your time.  Focus your energy on where you want to go, and who you want to be.  That's the important thing.

On this Monday, have a great week.
