The Power of Your Words

When I talk to individuals about life, one of my favorite videos is not even two minutes long.  It shows a blind man begging on the street with a sign by his feet that reads, “I’m blind, please help.”  A woman in sunglasses comes by, she stops, pulls out her pen, and rewrites the sign with these words, “It's a beautiful day and I can't see it.”

At first, it may sound very simplistic, but it's not.  Your language is the software of your brain.  When we say something a certain way, we’re predisposed to think about in terms of what the words mean and how they affect us.  And how they affect everyone around us.

Language evokes thought and thought evokes language.  It is indeed a two-way street.  But we can make things better, or we can make them worse, by the language we use.  Words Are Important. They define who we are, and tell others who we are, and what we think.

So use your words wisely.  Think before you speak.  Be positive with what you see and believe.  And today, what you will see and believe, make it take you to new places, new discoveries, new heights of excellence.  How you change is how you succeed.  And remember, change your words and you can change your world.

Change Your Words and You Can Change Your World.  Have a great week.
