Become The Person You Need To Be
In my book, Become Your True Self, I talk about the struggles of fear, of shyness, and how I overcame them. Without these struggles, I’m not sure I would have worked as hard in my life, or appreciate the privileges I’ve had in my life. Today, I feel privileged that I was underprivileged, because I realized the way you look at life is all a Matter of Perspective.
Condoleezza Rice believes that too. She said it during a recent speech she gave at a conference I was attending. She stated… “There was no earthly reason why an African-American from Birmingham, Alabama, a women who grew up during the age of segregation, could become a Soviet specialist,” but she did. Not only that, she became the first female Provost of Stanford University, and the first black female to become a U.S. Secretary of State. WOW.
So she said…
“Look at your life through the right lens. When you do, you won’t act like the person you need to be, you will become the person you need to be.”
WOW. Great advice for us all.
