Success: Selling Yourself

Selling yourself is one of the biggest lessons you'll ever learn.  It's not easy.  You have to sell yourself in this busy world, very competitive environment in which we all reside.  You gotta know how to sell yourself.  And if you don't learn how to sell yourself, you won't achieve what you want in life.  It's that simple.

So, Be Open, Be Forthright, Be Persuasive, and I stress authentically persuasive.  Authenticity is better than charisma any day of the week.  Know the right questions to ask, because that is often more important than producing the right answer.

When you can do that, you can help others answer the question, “What's so special about you?”  They will know by the way you sell yourself.  They will know by the way you communicate, by the way you observe, by the way you find solutions and solve problems.

Everyone sells something because we all sell what we know.  You're not only selling your expertise and knowledge, you're selling your passion, you're selling your honesty, You Are Selling You.  In his book, To Sell Is Human:  The Surprising Truth About Moving Others, Daniel Pink wrote…

This is what it means to serve:  Improving another persons life, and in turn, improving the world.

Look in the mirror, believe in what you can do, be honest with yourself, and help others find solutions.  When you do, you'll hear six of the most important words in the English language:  I Need You In My Life.  And the more people who say that to you, the more successful you’ll be, the happier you'll be, the more meaning you will experience in your own life. Have a great week.
