Your Brand Is Your Story

You've heard the word “Brand” and you've heard it often about products, services, hotels, et cetera. Think of it this way, your brand really is your story. To understand why it's important, you've gotta know the 4 levels of branding…

The first one is Brand Awareness. People knowing about you or your product.

The second one is Brand Preference. Probably preferring your product over another one or your service over another one.

The third one is Brand Insistence. It's like when I go into a restaurant, I want to have a soft drink, I will ask for a Coke. And I insist on it. And if they say, "We have a Pepsi,” I pass and just get a glass of water. That's brand insistence.

And the last one is called Brand Advocacy. When you, in your life, become so important to others, they advocate you, they promote you, they open doors of opportunity for you, they tell other people about you. And all of a sudden, you are showered with goodness, you're showered with opportunities.

But to get there, know what you stand for. Work on the innate gifts what you possess. Build relationships, find mentors, and be disciplined.

Building a brand is work and it is important. With millions of people who can do what you and I can do, we should always ask ourselves… “What makes us so special?” You want people to say, “You are special.” You want them to say, “I need you in my life.” That's brand insistence that leads to brand advocacy.

Have a great week.
